Two ways to delete your account

1. From within the app (recommended — instant deletion)

1. Open Mapsgram and sign in with your account
2. Tap the Profile tab at the bottom right
3. Scroll down → Settings → Danger Zone
4. Tap "Delete My Account"
5. Confirm with "Yes, delete" on the double-confirmation screen

Your account is deleted immediately. This action is irreversible.

2. Via email (if you can't access the app)

Send an email to the address below requesting account deletion:

In your email, include:

• Your username (@username)
• Your registered email address (the one you signed in with via Google)
• Reason for deletion (optional)

We process and confirm the request within 30 days (GDPR/KVKK compliant).

Data that gets deleted

When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:

• Profile information (username, name, bio, avatar, age, gender)
• All your stories (photos + videos)
• All DM messages
• Check-ins and location history
• Friendship records
• Block / report records
• All AI query history
• Push notification token

Data we retain (legal obligation)

The following anonymous/aggregate data is not deleted because of legal record-keeping requirements or potential law enforcement investigations:

• Anonymous aggregate statistics (DAU/MAU counts — cannot be linked to your identity)
• Content that is the subject of an illegal-content report (max 1 year, for investigation only)
• Hashed security logs (90 days)

This data does not identify you — after your account is deleted, no data can be used to recover your identity.

Process and questions

Method 1 (in-app) is instant. Method 2 (email) is completed within 30 days. If you do not hear back within 30 days, you may file a complaint with your local data protection authority. In Türkiye: KVKK Authority.
